Type
Driving License in Indonesia there are two (2) types according (Article 77 paragraph (2) of Law no. 22 of 2009):
  • Motor Vehicle Driving License of individual
  • Motor Vehicle Driving License of Public

Individual license Group
Class of driver's license pursuant to Article 80 of Law No.. 22 of 2009
  • A driver's license, to drive a passenger car and heavy goods by the number of individuals who are allowed not exceeding 3500 kg.
  • B1 driver's license, to drive a passenger car and heavy goods by the number of individuals who allowed more than 3,500 kg
  • B2 SIM, to drive a heavy vehicle equipment, vehicle towing, or by pulling the carriage of motor vehicles or trailers individual patches with a weight that is allowed to train patches or tow more than 1,000 kg.
  • C driver's license, for driving a Motorcycle.
  • D driver's license, to drive a special vehicle for the disabled.

In Indonesia, driving license (SIM) is a proof of registration and identification provided by the Police to someone who has met the requirements of the administration, physically and mentally healthy, understand traffic rules and skillful driving a motor vehicle. Any person driving a Motor Vehicle on the Road are required to have a driver's license in accordance with the type of motor vehicles being driven (Article 77 paragraph (1) Act 22 of 2009).

General license class
SIM Group General under Article 82 of Law no. 22 of 2009:
  • A Commercial driver's license, to drive a motor vehicle and general goods by the number of allowed weight not exceeding 3500 kg.
  • SIM B1 General, to drive a passenger car and general merchandise with a permissible total weight of more than 3,500 kg.
  • B2 SIM General, to drive the towing vehicle or motor vehicles with a pull cart or trailer with heavy patches are allowed to train patches or tow more than 1,000 kg.
